Another blogger and I got chatting about makeup. They told me they’d love to blog about beauty products, but thought the industry was a bit ‘intimidating’. I disagree with that statement, but I do understand why someone would think that, bloggers take the most gorgeous pictures of their products. It’s a skill. It’s an art, and not everyone can do that.
I am a creative person with my own face/makeup. But I’m totally crap at taking professional looking pictures of my makeup/makeup looks. And I hate the sound of my own voice, so videos are a big deal for me.
So I’ve decided to just post, my own makeup faves (for this moment in time) it tends to change.. and I’ll just post some pretty straight foreword pictures. With pretty simple descriptions. Which will be quite boring compared to others but I like to keep it simple…..sometimes!
I have always loved makeup. I don’t do the natural look, when I have my face done. I like to have a lot of it on. I know that’s not for everyone, but I’ve always had my mascara very full almost clumpy, and my eyeliner has always been very dramatic.
Here are the things my face currently cannot live without :
Too faced ‘Pretty rich’ eye shadow palette
This palette was made for a princess. Not the Kate Middleton kind, the Disney Princess kind. Okkurrr. It’s so shiny, so glittery, so fabulous. And it stays fresh all day long. I’ll be so sad to part ways with it one day. But for now, I’ll keep on living my Disney Princess dream.
Maybelline BROW precise fiber filler in dark brown
This is perfect for anyone who loves dramatic brows, but lacks in actual eyebrow hair. I’m naturally fair, so my brows are pretty much non existent. The maybelline brow precise, helps me thicken my brows out and keeps them placed neatly. (It’s like a little mascara comb).
Urban decay trouble maker mascara
Like I said above, very dramatic and overly thick, if this is what you like your mascara to be, you NEED this one. After just one brush the lashes are so much more defined and thick. The brush is so good, it’s my favourite mascara (I think) ever.
Liquid chrome drops Barry M (light)
This sits well on my upper cheek, for a more defined face. I don’t think this will be for everyone as I use the tiniest little drop and it looks like I’m a contestant for Ru Paul’s drag race, but again.. I like it! So it works for me.
No7 bronzer powder
Because I’m super pale, I need a bit of a pick me up when it comes to skin tone! Eye rolls, I use the tiniest, and I really mean tiniest, bit of powder because it’s so strong. I tap away any excess powder on my brush before applying (about 100 times) because it will not budge once it’s on your face. So be careful. Again it’s powerful and over the time. How I likey. I don’t use any other No7 products and a friend actually bought this one for me, and I’m so glad she did.
Lancôme hypnose mascara
This is what I use as my first layer mascara. It gives such an open spaced brush, I don’t know if that makes any sense but it really brushes the eye lashes out and makes them sit nicely. Like that red carpet fake eyelash look. And really isn’t clumpy very light. It’s a very likeable product.
Rimmel London Glam eyes liquid eyeliner in black
This one and I… we go way back. This is the only eyeliner I’ve ever used and I won’t touch another. Not only is it a right cheapy, it just sits really nicely on my eye lids. My eye lids are small and closed in, this doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and it lasts all day. Honestly it’s my signature look. Ahh we’ve had some good and bad times. Love ya.
Love at first blush soap and glory powder
This is a perfect pinky blusher, not too over powering and it still makes a big difference. Deffo one for those with nerdy pale skin like myself.
Dandelion shy beam liquid highlighter by benefit
I use this to cover my dark circles. And three kids down, I bloody need it big time. It really works, and people tell me quite often I have ‘glowy’ skin and it’s all down to this bad boy.
CYO illuminating mixing cream
If you like to pretend you have great glowing skin like mine, this is perfect for mixing in with your liquid foundation. I like to use a little extra under my eyes.
The ordinary liquid foundation
This covers my whole face with one pump, it’s glossy and sets really nicely on my face. It’s really well priced and it’s very popular right now.
Last but not least
Velvet matte Victoria’s Secret cream lip stain
My favourite ever lip gloss. It’s so creamy and doesn’t dry up your lips. And yet it’s thick. Like lipstick thick, without the dryness. It’s amazing. It’s the best ever don’t @ me. One application truly lasts all day. Until this one stops impressing me I won’t buy Kylie’s.
